Receiving the 2009 Prime Minister’s Award
October 9, 2009

Michael Sweet and Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper
I was very happy and excited to be a 2009 recipient of the Prime Minister’s Award for teaching. The award was given to 15 teachers this year from across the country. We all met for a week in Ottawa and received a cash award of $5000. Here we are as a group at the national awards ceremony on Parliament Hill.

Oh Baby Baby, Baby Oil!
July 4, 2009

Baby Oil
Baby oil is nothing short of liquid gold! Truly it is an amazing product and, after being thoroughly amazed, I decided to put pen to paper and document this charming substance that has kept our bottoms slick since 1931 when Johnson & Johnson first introduced this petroleum byproduct.
The Deposition – An Experiment in Fiction

The Deposition by Michael Ernest Sweet
The Deposition is a short piece of experimental fiction which I first published in Nude. It is now available online as a free download by clicking here. This piece was a lot of fun to write and was originally inspired by a dream which morphed into more of a ‘writing experiment’ as the plot, or lack thereof, unfolded.
This is for sure not my usual style of writing. Enjoy and let me know what you think!

SQUIRT – A Short Play in One Act
June 29, 2009
SQUIRT has been such a fun little play to write and then to also teach. It started out as an ‘example’ piece for my secondary five class lesson on playwriting and ended up becoming a play in its own right – despite the fact that I wrote it in under 60 minutes from start to finish.
SQUIRT may be used in any way including performance by a pubic school without a royalty. I would, however, appreciate hearing about your production or teaching experience. Any other public use must enquire about a royalty. To simply read, it’s free… start downloading by clicking here.
